Important: If you supply products for sale on Amazon, you must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and Amazon policies applicable to those products and product listings.
In the United States, children's products are defined as a consumer product designed or intended primarily for children 12 years of age or younger. Products are determined to be “children’s products” based on the following criteria:
Intended use – Is the product to be used by children?
Packaging representation – Is the product marketed toward children?
Commonly recognized – Is the product commonly known to be used by children?
CPSC Age Determination Guidelines – Does CPSC determine the product to be a children’s product?
Amazon may request children's products safety documentation at any time to confirm compliance.
Who should submit documents?
If you are contacted by Amazon, you may be asked to provide documents to confirm the safety of your products. Amazon requires documentation that indicates testing compliance with standards or regulations for each product you are applying to sell.
How do I request approval to sell Children’s Products?
Amazon’s policies require that children’s products sold through the Amazon website meet specified certification standards. If you are contacted by Amazon, submit the following information to child-safety@amazon.com:
Company name
Seller ID/Vendor ID
Email address
Phone number
A list of ASINs you are applying to sell
Product Images and Manuals, as applicable (images should include all relevant safety information, compliance markings, and small parts and choking hazard warnings)
A Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) for the ASINs you are applying to sell
Test reports from a CPSC-accepted testing laboratory confirming each product was tested to the applicable requirements.
